BOMBAY HIGH COURT SETS ASIDE ARBITRATION AWARD DIRECTING BCCI TO PAY OVER RS 4, 800 CRORES FOR TERMINATION OF DECCAN CHARGERS FROM IPL The Bombay High Court has set aside an arbitration award which awarded DCHL a compensation of Rs 4, 814.67 crores plus 10% interest from 2012, plus costs, on finding that the Deccan Chargers teams termination from IPL was illegal. The dispute was pertaining to a notice served by BCCI terminating the franchise agreement with DHCL. The termination was stayed by the Bombay High Court, and made final after DHCL failed to submit a bank guarantee. Arbitration was initiated soon after.
