Madras High Court Raises Concerns Over Corruption in Women Police Stations in Tamil Nadu The Madras High Court recently expressed its disappointment over the state of All Women Police Stations (AWPS) in Tamil Nadu, stating that they have deviated from their intended purpose of being reformatory institutions and have become centers of corruption. The court, while hearing a contempt petition, directed the State Director General of Police (DGP) to take necessary measures to restore the original integrity of these police stations. The court also acknowledged that the petitioner's claim regarding the failure to follow Supreme Court guidelines in a specific case was valid. However, considering the police officer's apology and presence in court, the court decided to let her off with a warning.
