BEING A MAJOR ENTITLES ONE TO LIVE TOGETHER IN A LIVE-IN RELATIONSHIP The Punjab and Haryana High Court in the case of Pushpa Devi and Anr. v. State of Punjab and Ors. granted protection to a 19-year-old boy and 21-year-old girl, holding that since the petitioners are majors, they are entitled to live together in live-in relationship. It was the petitioner’s case that the girl was being forced to marry another boy against her choice and was also being threatened with death, by her family. The Court directed the Senior Superintendent of Police to investigate the grievance of the petitioners and take appropriate actions for the protection of their life and liberty.
