ANTICIPATORY BAIL GRANTED BY THE BOMBAY HIGH COURT TO MAN ACCUSED OF PRONOUNCING ‘TRIPLE TALAQ’ OVER SMS
The Bombay High Court in the case of Adnan Iqbal Moulvi v State of Maharashtra has granted anticipatory bail to the petitioner who had been accused of Section 498A of the IPC and pronouncing ‘triple talaq’ over a text message to his wife (Section 4 of Muslim Women Protection of Rights on Marriage Act). The court in the order suggested the parties to opt for mediation and granted anticipatory bail on execution of a PR Bond of Rs. 25000.
