Union of India on Tuesday issued a slew of direction to the police, Motor Accidents Claims Tribunals (MACTs) and insurance companies inorder to facilitate and make MACT procedures smoother and easier for the claimant. The directions were specifically a signal for a move towards a greater use of technology by permitting the submission of police reports online or via email and the insurers to make offers and payments online.
