The bench headed by Chief Justice S.A. Bobdecomprising of Justices A.S. Bopanna and V. Ramasubramanian, Supreme Court, expressed concern about while hearing the matter of increasing deaths of Forest Rangers on 8th January 2021. Amicus Curiae ADN Rao remarked that the reason Forest Rangers do not have armoury is because of the non-utilisation of funds by the state government. The CJI further said the court will make sure that, “funds are used for bulletproof vests, helmets for a section of the officers.
