SUPREME COURT EMPHASIZES THE NEED TO WRITE SHORT & CLEAR JUDGMENTS & RESTRICT TIME FOR ORAL SUBMISSIONS In the postscript to the 182 paged judgment with respect to the Delhi riots inquiry, the Supreme Court emphasized the need to restrict the time period for oral submissions by lawyers and to have 'more crisp, clear and precise' judgments which litigants can understand. The Court noted that they intended to start a discussion among the legal fraternity about the importance of 'the common man' being able to comprehend the products of the judicial system.
