PUNJAB AND HARYANA HIGH COURT ALLOWS MAN’S DIVORCE PLEA: ‘Spouse having incurable mental ailment leading to irresponsible and violent behavior makes life living hell’ The Court allowed a man's divorce plea on grounds that his spouse has an incurable mental ailment which led to irresponsible and violent behavior which made the life of victim spouse living hell. The Punjab and Haryana High Court set aside the decision of trial court which had dismissed the man’s plea of divorce. The Trial Court failed to acknowledge the medical evidence of wife, which indicated that her mental ailment was treatable but not curable. Further, her conduct would be a source of immense agony to the petitioner according to the High Court.
