PROTECTION VIA A WRIT PETITION DENIED TO A MARRIED WOMAN IN A LIVE-IN RELATIONSHIP A married woman who had recently moved out of her matrimonial home due to physical and mental abuse from her husband has filed for a writ petition under Article 226 seeking protection from the latter. The wife has claimed that the husband was against the alliance between her and the third person and asked her to eliminate it. She also claimed that there was a threat to her life and liberty due to the same. The Court dismissed the petition on the grounds that the woman had not taken a divorce from her husband which deemed her live in to be ‘unholy’ in nature. The Court also found zero basis for the allegations made against her husband.
