NARENDRA DABHOLKAR MURDER: ACCUSED VIRENDRA TAWADE MOVES BOMBAY HIGH COURT SEEKING BAIL Dr. Virendrasinh Tawade, prime accused in the murder of rationalist Narendra Dabholkar has approached the Bombay High Court assailing the order of the Special Court in Pune rejecting his third bail application. (Dr. Virendrasinh Tawade v. State of Maharashtra & amp; Ors.) After his arrest by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), Tawade was charged with offences under Sections 302 (murder) read with Section 120B (criminal conspiracy) of Indian Penal Code. Tawade had previously approached the Special Pune Court with two bail applications which came to be rejected in October 2017 and July 2018. After filing of two chargesheets and considering there seemed to be a delay in starting of the trial, Tawade approached the Court with a third application for bail which was rejected in September 2020.
