MA KAALI POSTER: FILMMAKER LEENA MANIMEKALAI MOVES TO THE SC TO QUASH FIRs AGAINST HER Filmmaker Leena Manimekalai has petitioned the Supreme Court for protection from the several lawsuits filed against her because a poster for her next movie showed the Hindu goddess Kaali smoking a cigarette. Additionally, the Supreme Court was asked in the petition to order the dismissal of all nine first information reports (FIRs) that had been filed against the woman in connection with the same. The matter was brought up on Friday before a bench consisting of Justice PS Narasimha and Chief Justice of India DY Chandrachud.
