The Supreme Court while hearing the Suo moto cognizance of the case of the killing of judge Uttam Anand on Friday observed that it was the State’s failure that it could not provide security to the judge. The court observed that the judge was posted as an Additional District and Sessions Judge at Dhanbad and it being an area with high crime rate including mafia activities and there have been instances of judges being attacked and advocates being killed before.
