Falsely Implicating Husband and His Family Amounts to Cruelty The Calcutta High Court recently pronounced a judgement stating that anyone who falsely implicates one’s husband or his family in a criminal matter shall amount to an act of cruelty. The judgement was given in the petition filed by Mr. Suchitra Kumar Singha Roy against the order dated 16th September, 2011, passed by the learned Additional District Judge, 5th Court, Burdwan. The petitioner accused his wife of falsely implicating him and his family under section 498A, 406 and 313 of IPC due to which he and his father were arrested and put in custody for nine days.
