Difficulties Faced by Judicial Officers in Remote Areas Highlighted by Bombay High Court The Bombay High Court recently addressed the challenges encountered by district and subordinate court judges who work in remote and far-flung regions. During a hearing on a case involving Anganwadi workers in such areas, the Court mentioned that some judicial officers even have to hold court in the presence of roaming tigers. The Court directed the Central and State governments to ensure the provision of mobile handsets to Anganwadi workers in remote areas of Maharashtra within three months. This initiative aims to facilitate the entry of data into the Central government's POSHAN tracker app, which monitors Anganwadi center activities nationwide. The Court emphasized the importance of timely distribution of functional devices and suggested involving Child Development Project Officers (CDPO) in the handset distribution process. It further clarified that procedural requirements should not impede the objective of providing financial support to the beneficiaries, namely, mothers and children.
