DELHI HIGH COURT DIRECTS A MINOR CHILD TO STAY IN A CHILDRENS HOME DUE TO PRESSURE BY PARENTS OVER HER TO MARRY AN OLDER MAN A Delhi based minor girl was subjected to harassment and violence by her parents over not marrying an older man and was restrained from continuing her studies. A petition was filed by the girl’s next friend and the Delhi High Court where she claimed that the minor had left her parental home due to the ongoing harassment. Subsequently, the HC via online proceedings interacted with the girl where they learnt that she was not inclined to live with her parents. The Court ordered for a temporary stay to be arranged for her at children’s home and ordered the SHO to look conduct an investigation in the matter.
