Central Government has launched instant PAN facility: The Union Minister for Finance & Corporate Affairs on 28.05.2020 announced the launch of instant allotment of PAN (permanent account number). Those with valid Aadhaar number linked with their mobile number. The allotment process is paperless and the electronica PAN (e-PAN) will be issued free of cost to applicants. The process to apply for instant PAN is very simple. The applicant is required to provide Aadhaar number while e-filing on Income Tax Department website. After the submission applicants will receive OTP on their Aadhar registered mobile number. On completion of the process the applicant will receive 15-digit acknowledgment number. The applicant can track their request status. Once the process is duly complete, they can download the e-PAN, the same will be sent to the applicant’s email id provided registered with Aadhaar. The launch of instant PAN facility is initiative taken by the Income Tax Department towards digital India in order to ease the compliance to taxpayers.
