CAN INSURANCE BE CLAIMED WHEN ACCIDENT TOOK PLACE ON THE DAY THE POLICY WAS BOUGHT BUT ITS COVERAGE STARTS ON THE NEXT DAY? The Supreme Court has stayed an order that was passed by the Jharkhand High Court which allowed the payment of insurance a day prior to the coverage period of the insurance. In the case of Royal Sundaram Alliance Insurance Co. Ltd v Savitri Dev & amp; Ors the award given to the respondents was challenged on the ground that insurance was claimed on the very same day as the issuance of policy i.e. 14th March 2016 when the coverage was to start on 15th March 2016.
