A Public Interest Litigation has been filed by Shrikant Prasad in the Supreme Court, seeking for appointment of more number of Judges in subordinate judiciary systems bearing in mind the long pendency of cases, and how delay in pronouncing judgements proves detrimental to people involved in the matters as it is mentally harassing for both the victims and the accused, and consequentially amounts to denial of Right to Life guaranteed under Article 21 of the Constitution of India.
